Sizoni Pamoja Matchday Four: BUL Maintain Perfect Start

Review every Sizoni Pamoja Matchday Four result as BUL stay perfect, NEC and SC Villa remain unbeaten, and Vipers secure their first win.

Sizoni Pamoja Matchday Four ended on Saturday, 19 September 2026, after all nine Uganda Premier League fixtures were completed. The round delivered 20 goals, six home victories, one away win and two draws, providing the first complete programme after CAF engagements disrupted the previous two matchdays.

BUL remained the only side with a perfect record, while NEC and SC Villa extended their unbeaten starts. KCCA, UPDF and defending champions Vipers recorded their first league victories, but five clubs finished the round still searching for a win.

BUL Preserve Their Perfect Beginning

BUL defeated Blacks Power 2-1 in Njeru to register a fourth victory from four matches. Lawrence Olaboro and Simon Achidi scored for the hosts before Oscar Otim replied for Blacks Power, who suffered their first defeat of the campaign.

NEC and SC Villa Continue Unbeaten Runs

NEC produced the round’s biggest comeback after URA took the lead through Isma Mugulusi. James Jarieko and Enrique Lubwama scored before Richard Basangwa added twice, completing a 4-1 victory and strengthening NEC’s place among the leaders.

SC Villa were convincing at home, beating Kigezi HomeBoyz 3-0. Patrick Kakande, Aslam Ssemakula and Andrew Otim supplied the goals as Villa maintained their unbeaten run and ended Matchday Four in third place.

Relief for KCCA, UPDF and Vipers

KCCA began the round without a win or goal from three matches. Emmanuel Anyama changed that by scoring the decisive goal in a 1-0 away victory over Kataka, although the hosts were left regretting opportunities they failed to convert.

UPDF also earned their first win by defeating Maroons 1-0 at Nakivubo. Hassan Zzinda settled a difficult contest and helped lift UPDF to eighth position after the team entered the game with two draws and one defeat.

Vipers had played only once because of their continental commitments. Returning to league action, the champions defeated Ntugasaze 3-0 through goals from Gusto Mulongo, Odili Chukuma and Ceaser Manzoki.

That result moved Vipers out of the relegation places and into 11th position. Ntugasaze remained bottom without a point, making their October programme important.

Five Teams Still Await Their First Victory

Express and Kitara shared the points in a 1-1 draw at Nakivubo. Frank Tumwesigye gave Kitara the lead with a long-range strike before Nicholas Jjonga equalised for the Red Eagles.

Mbarara City and Entebbe UPPC finished goalless in Kamwenge, extending Mbarara City’s winless sequence. Kitara, Mbarara City, Kigezi HomeBoyz, Ntugasaze and Kataka were the five teams without a victory after the round.

Kitara’s position requires context because continental participation left them with two league matches played. They remained unbeaten with two points, meaning their low position reflected games in hand as well as results.

Police delivered the round’s only away win by beating Lugazi 2-0. Left-back Richard Matovu and Abdushakur Jjemba scored to secure Police’s second victory of the season.

What Matchday Four Means

The round established a hierarchy. BUL’s perfect return gives them the strongest foundation, but NEC and Villa remain close enough to apply pressure. Vipers and Kitara also have postponed fixtures that may significantly change the table once played.

At the opposite end, early winless runs create pressure without deciding a season. Kataka, Kigezi HomeBoyz, Mbarara City and Ntugasaze need improved finishing and defensive control, while Kitara require a fair assessment because of their reduced schedule.

Verdict

BUL emerged as Matchday Four’s biggest winners by protecting the league’s only perfect record. NEC and SC Villa maintained pressure, while first victories brought relief to KCCA, UPDF and Vipers. The completed nine-match programme also showed that games in hand must be considered before drawing firm conclusions from the early table.
