Kigezi HomeBoyz host KCCA at Rwamwanja Stadium. Read the match preview, team news, players to watch, betting insights, and prediction.
KCCA FC will attempt to secure their first victory of the 2026/27 Uganda Premier League season when they visit newly promoted Kigezi HomeBoyz at Rwamwanja Stadium in Kamwenge on Tuesday.
The Kasasiro Boys have endured a difficult beginning under head coach Brian Ssenyondo, losing their opening two league matches without scoring. Their trip to Kamwenge therefore carries considerable importance, even at this early stage of the campaign.
Kigezi HomeBoyz are also searching for their first top-flight points after suffering a narrow defeat on their league debut. With both teams under pressure to respond positively, the match promises to be competitive.

Match Preview
KCCA began the season with a disappointing 2-0 home defeat against NEC at the MTN Omondi Stadium. Despite creating several chances, defensive lapses and a lack of composure in front of goal left them empty-handed.
Their second match produced another 2-0 defeat, this time against Express at Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo. KCCA competed well during the first half, with Said Mayanja striking the crossbar while Charles Lwanga and Shafik Nana Kwikiriza were denied by goalkeeper Mathias Kigonya.
However, second-half goals from Isaac Wagoina and Derrick Ddungu punished KCCA’s missed chances and defensive mistakes. The result left the Kampala club without a point or goal from its opening two matches.
Ssenyondo has consequently described the encounter with Kigezi HomeBoyz as a must-win contest.
“This is a must-win game. It is more like a cup final for us, and we have to fight for everything,” the coach said, according to Kawowo Sports.
The coach remains encouraged by his team’s ability to create chances. His immediate challenge is converting those openings while improving concentration at the other end of the pitch.

Kigezi HomeBoyz Target Historic Home Result
Kigezi HomeBoyz will be playing their first Uganda Premier League home match after their scheduled second fixture against Vipers was postponed because of the champions’ CAF commitments.
The newcomers began their campaign with a 2-1 away defeat against Lugazi. Cromwell Rwothomio put Lugazi ahead before Mike Walaga equalised for Kigezi HomeBoyz in the 79th minute.
Kigezi appeared set to collect a valuable point until Livingstone Mulondo scored a stoppage-time winner for Lugazi. Although the result was disappointing, the performance showed that the newly promoted side can compete at this level.
Former KCCA winger Kefa Kisala now coaches the hosts, adding an interesting subplot to the contest. His knowledge of Ugandan football and understanding of KCCA’s expectations could help Kigezi prepare for the visitors.
Home advantage may also be significant. Kigezi will hope that their supporters create an intimidating atmosphere at Rwamwanja Stadium as the club marks a historic first Premier League home appearance.
Team News and Possible Changes
Ssenyondo may adjust his starting team following the defeats against NEC and Express. Ibrahim Kasule is among the players pushing for his first start after appearing from the bench in both matches.
Kasule joined KCCA on a two-year contract after gaining experience abroad. His energy, movement and creativity could help the visitors connect midfield with attack.
Charles Lwanga, Sammy Ssebaduka and Shafik Nana Kwikiriza remain important attacking options. However, KCCA must show greater accuracy after failing to convert their opportunities in the opening matches.
Kigezi HomeBoyz could retain much of the team that performed competitively against Lugazi. Walaga’s goal in that fixture makes him an obvious attacking threat, while goalkeeper Norman Angufindru could have an important role against KCCA’s forwards.

Players to Watch
Ibrahim Kasule – KCCA
Kasule could give KCCA the creativity and urgency they have lacked in decisive areas. If handed a starting opportunity, his ability to carry the ball, find space and combine with the forwards may improve the visitors’ attacking rhythm.
Charles Lwanga – KCCA
Lwanga came close to scoring against Express and remains one of KCCA’s main attacking threats. His movement will test the Kigezi defence, but he must make the most of any clear opportunities.
Mike Walaga – Kigezi HomeBoyz
Walaga scored Kigezi’s first Uganda Premier League goal during the defeat to Lugazi. That moment demonstrated his ability to deliver under pressure, and the KCCA defence must closely monitor his movement.
Norman Angufindru – Kigezi HomeBoyz
The former SC Villa goalkeeper brings valuable top-flight experience to the newly promoted club. He could be busy if KCCA reproduces the chance creation seen in their opening matches.
Head-to-Head Record
There is no established recent Uganda Premier League head-to-head record between these teams because Kigezi HomeBoyz are contesting their maiden top-flight campaign.
That lack of previous meetings increases the tactical uncertainty. KCCA carry greater Premier League experience, but Kigezi have home advantage and an opportunity to surprise another established opponent.
Key Battle: Kigezi’s Defence Against KCCA’s Attack
The decisive question is whether KCCA can finally turn possession and opportunities into goals. They created chances against both NEC and Express but failed to score.
Kigezi conceded twice against Lugazi, including a stoppage-time goal. Maintaining concentration for the full match will be essential against visitors desperate to end their poor start.
KCCA must also avoid overcommitting players forward. Their urgency could leave spaces for Walaga and the other Kigezi attackers to exploit on transitions.

Bangbet Uganda Betting Insights
Eligible Ugandan supporters aged 25 and above can follow the latest Uganda Premier League match markets on Bangbet Uganda. Available selections may include the match result, double chance, total goals and both teams to score, subject to availability and changing odds.
KCCA’s greater top-flight experience makes them slight favourites, but their two defeats mean an away victory cannot be treated as certain. A cautious KCCA win-or-draw selection may reflect the competitive nature of the fixture.
The visitors have not scored in two matches, while Kigezi’s only league game produced three goals. Under 3.5 total goals may therefore be worth considering, although early-season evidence remains limited. Another possible market is KCCA to score their first league goal of the season.
Odds can change before kick-off, and every market carries risk. Supporters should assess the confirmed line-ups before making any decision.
Match Prediction
KCCA’s poor start creates pressure, but the chances they have produced suggest they are capable of improving.
Kigezi HomeBoyz should benefit from home support and are unlikely to make the contest comfortable.
Prediction: Kigezi HomeBoyz 1-2 KCCA FC

Verdict
Both clubs enter the match searching for their first points, but the pressure is greater on KCCA after two successive 2-0 defeats.
A narrow away victory is the prediction, but Kigezi’s determination and home advantage should ensure that the Kasasiro Boys are tested throughout the afternoon.
