Champions League Draw 2026/27: Full League-Phase Opponents

Discover every major club’s 2026/27 Champions League opponents, including Arsenal, Liverpool, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern, and PSG.

Clubs Discover League-Phase Opponents

The 2026/27 UEFA Champions League league-phase draw has produced heavyweight encounters involving Europe’s leading clubs, giving Ugandan football supporters eight matchdays of action to anticipate.

All 36 teams learned their eight opponents during Thursday’s draw in Monaco. Arsenal against Real Madrid, Barcelona against Manchester City, Manchester United against Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain against Barcelona are among the standout fixtures.

Confirmed match dates and kick-off times will be released separately. Uganda is three hours ahead of Central European Time during September and October, although daylight-saving changes later can alter that difference.

How the Champions League League Phase Works

Under the league-phase format, each club plays eight different opponents: four at home and four away. The teams were divided into four pots, with every club receiving one home and one away opponent from each pot.

The top eight in the 36-team table qualify directly for the round of 16. Clubs finishing ninth to 24th enter two-legged knockout play-offs, while those placed 25th or below are eliminated without dropping into the Europa League. UEFA’s matchdays run from September 8–10, 2026, to January 27, 2027, before the final at Atlético Madrid’s Estadio Metropolitano on June 5.

Premier League Clubs and Their Opponents

England has five representatives. Arsenal host Real Madrid, Borussia Dortmund, Lille and Sabah, then visit Bayern Munich, Real Betis, Napoli and Slavia Prague. The Real Madrid and Bayern assignments immediately test last season’s finalists.

Liverpool welcome Atlético Madrid, Porto, Villarreal and Lens, with away matches against Inter Milan, Club Brugge, Fenerbahçe and LASK. Manchester City host PSG, Sporting CP, Napoli and AEK Athens, while travelling to Barcelona, Porto, RB Leipzig and Lens.

Manchester United’s return brings home games against Bayern, Roma, Leipzig and Sabah, plus trips to Atlético, Sporting, Villarreal and Como. Aston Villa complete the English contingent by hosting PSG, Dortmund, Fenerbahçe and Viking before visiting Barcelona, Club Brugge, Galatasaray and Slavia Prague. The Premier League analysis identifies Liverpool’s programme as potentially the most favourable among England’s five, but performances will settle that argument.

LaLiga’s Five Representatives

Real Madrid host Inter, PSV Eindhoven, Leipzig and LASK, then travel to Arsenal, Roma, Shakhtar Donetsk and AEK Athens. Barcelona receive Manchester City, Aston Villa, Feyenoord and Como, with away nights against PSG, Sporting, Galatasaray and Sabah.

Atlético Madrid face Bayern, Manchester United, Fenerbahçe and Viking at home; Liverpool, PSV, Bodø/Glimt and Stuttgart await away. Real Betis host Arsenal, Porto, Feyenoord and Como before visiting Bayern, Dortmund, Lille and Slovan Bratislava. Villarreal welcome PSG, Manchester United, Napoli and Sabah, while travelling to Liverpool, Dortmund, Fenerbahçe and Slavia Prague.

Serie A Clubs Face Major Tests

Italy has four entrants. Inter host Liverpool, Club Brugge, Shakhtar and Stuttgart, then visit Real Madrid, Dortmund, Feyenoord and Slovan Bratislava. Napoli welcome Arsenal, Club Brugge, Bodø/Glimt and Viking before travelling to Manchester City, Porto, Villarreal and Sabah.

Roma host Real Madrid, Sporting, Lille and Slovan, with trips to PSG, Manchester United, Fenerbahçe and AEK. Competition debutants Como receive PSG, Manchester United, Leipzig and AEK, while their away programme includes Barcelona, Real Betis, Feyenoord and Lens.

Bundesliga’s Four Challengers

Bayern Munich host Arsenal, Real Betis, Bodø/Glimt and Slavia Prague, then visit Atlético, Manchester United, Lille and Viking. Dortmund welcome Inter, Betis, Villarreal and AEK but travel to Arsenal, Aston Villa, Bodø/Glimt and Sabah.

Leipzig face Manchester City, PSV, Shakhtar and Lens at home, alongside away trips to Real Madrid, Manchester United, Feyenoord and Como. Stuttgart host Atlético, Club Brugge, Lille and Viking before visiting Inter, PSV, Galatasaray and Slovan. The German draw therefore creates direct tests against English, Spanish and Italian opposition.

France Has Three Clubs

France contributes three representatives. Defending champions PSG host Barcelona, Roma, Galatasaray and Slovan, while visiting Manchester City, Aston Villa, Villarreal and Como. Lille welcome Bayern, Real Betis, Galatasaray and Slovan, then travel to Arsenal, Roma, Bodø/Glimt and Stuttgart. Lens host Manchester City, Sporting, Bodø/Glimt and Como, with away games against Liverpool, Club Brugge, Leipzig and Slavia.

Other Clubs Complete a Diverse Field

The remaining teams ensure wide geographical representation: Porto and Sporting from Portugal; PSV and Feyenoord from the Netherlands; Club Brugge from Belgium; Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe from Türkiye; Shakhtar from Ukraine; Slavia Prague, Slovan Bratislava, AEK Athens and LASK from Central and Southern Europe; Norway’s Bodø/Glimt and Viking; and Azerbaijan’s Sabah.

For these clubs, home matches against established giants offer both sporting opportunity and major occasions for supporters. Sabah will host Barcelona, Dortmund and Napoli, while Viking welcome Bayern. LASK receive Liverpool and Porto, and Bodø/Glimt host Atlético and Dortmund.

Verdict

Arsenal, Manchester City, Aston Villa, PSG and Como appear to have particularly demanding schedules, while Liverpool may see opportunity in their draw. However, the league format rewards consistency rather than one famous victory. With eight different opponents and only the top eight progressing directly, every point could shape the road to Madrid.
