Mbappé, Bellingham and Diomande Keep Title Charge Alive

Racing Santander 0-3 Real Madrid

Real Madrid continued their excellent form with a commanding 3-0 victory over Racing Santander at El Sardinero.

Kylian Mbappé opened the scoring from the penalty spot before Jude Bellingham registered his 50th goal for Real Madrid. Yan Diomande then completed the victory with a stunning volley from outside the penalty area.

All three goals arrived during a dominant first-half performance as José Mourinho’s team recorded their sixth consecutive victory across all competitions and fourth successive La Liga win. Madrid moved to 27 points, keeping them within three points of leaders Barcelona.

Mbappé Opens the Scoring From the Penalty Spot

Real Madrid immediately took control of possession and began creating opportunities.

Arda GĂĽler went close after seven minutes with a first-time effort that narrowly missed the target. Bellingham then forced Racing goalkeeper Julen Agirrezabala into a save with a well-directed header.

Madrid received an opportunity to open the scoring in the 11th minute when Matteo Prati brought Mbappé down inside the penalty area.

The French forward stepped forward and calmly converted the resulting penalty. The goal took Mbappé to 16 goals in 15 appearances across all competitions this season, including 12 in La Liga.

Racing attempted to respond immediately, but Thibaut Courtois produced an important save to deny Iker Luque.

Jude Bellingham Scores 50th Real Madrid Goal

Madrid doubled their advantage in the 21st minute following an excellent pass from GĂĽler.

Bellingham collected the ball near the halfway line and drove towards the Racing goal. The England international remained composed as Agirrezabala rushed from his line, lifting the ball beyond the goalkeeper before finishing into the empty net.

The goal represented a significant personal milestone for Bellingham—his 50th in a Real Madrid shirt. It also highlighted his ability to influence matches with well-timed forward runs from midfield.

Bellingham almost added another goal later in the match, but his stoppage-time effort was disallowed for offside.

Yan Diomande Scores Spectacular Volley

Diomande completed Madrid’s impressive first-half display in the 36th minute.

Racing failed to properly clear a corner, and the loose ball dropped towards the edge of the penalty area. The Ivorian winger reacted immediately, producing a powerful right-footed volley that flew into the top corner.

It was an outstanding strike from Diomande, who has now registered four goals and three assists in his last six appearances. His improvement has coincided with Madrid winning all six matches during that period.

The summer signing is demonstrating why the club invested heavily in his potential. His combination of pace, confidence and ability to score from distance gives Mourinho another dangerous attacking option.

Madrid Control the Second Half

With the score already 3-0, Real Madrid controlled the second half without needing to maintain the same attacking intensity.

Mbappé nearly scored again after combining with Bellingham, but his curling effort struck the post. Güler also continued creating opportunities following an excellent midfield performance.

Racing were initially awarded a penalty in the 71st minute after the ball appeared to strike Aurélien Tchouaméni’s arm. However, the decision was overturned following a VAR review because the ball had deflected off the midfielder’s foot first.

Madrid protected their clean sheet and completed a comfortable away victory, ending Racing’s unbeaten home record in the process.

Real Madrid Extend Winning Run

The victory was Real Madrid’s sixth in succession across all competitions.

Their current sequence includes four consecutive league victories and an important El Clásico win over Barcelona. Mourinho’s team have responded impressively after previously dropping points and are now firmly involved in the title race.

Madrid have nine wins and two defeats from their opening 11 La Liga matches. They have scored 28 goals and conceded 10, giving them a goal difference of plus 18.

La Liga Table After Matchday 11

Barcelona remain top of the table with 30 points, followed by Atlético Madrid on 28. Real Madrid are third with 27 points—only three behind the leaders and one behind their city rivals.

The next round could significantly change the title race. Barcelona and Atlético Madrid are scheduled to face each other, while Real Madrid travel to Mestalla to play Valencia. A Madrid victory combined with dropped points for Barcelona could reduce or eliminate the gap at the top.

La Liga Top-Scorer Update

Raphinha currently leads the La Liga scoring chart with 15 goals. Mbappé’s penalty against Racing took him to 12 league goals, placing him second, while Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal follows with 10.

The scoring race remains closely connected to the title battle. Madrid will need Mbappé to maintain his current form as they attempt to overtake Barcelona and Atlético.

Who Was Real Madrid’s Man of the Match?

Bellingham delivered a complete midfield performance and celebrated an important milestone. Mbappé opened the scoring and remained dangerous throughout, while Güler controlled the creative side of Madrid’s attack.

However, Diomande’s spectacular volley and growing attacking influence made him another strong Man of the Match candidate.
