Bayern Munich opened their 2026/27 UEFA Champions League campaign ruthlessly, sweeping aside Bodø/Glimt 5-0 to extend their remarkable run of winning UCL opening matches to 24 consecutive seasons.
The six-time European champions were frustrated during the first half at the Allianz Arena. Still, a devastating second-half performance saw Jamal Musiala, Harry Kane, Alphonso Davies and Michael Olise tear apart the Norwegian visitors.

That proved to be one of the visitors’ final opportunities to threaten Bayern’s dominance.
Davies Rocket Opens the Floodgates
With 13 minutes remaining, Alphonso Davies effectively ended the contest.
A partially cleared Bayern corner fell to the Canadian outside the penalty area, and he unleashed a thunderous 20-yard strike through the crowd and into the net for 3-0.
From there, Bayern turned a comfortable victory into a statement result.
Michael Olise Shines With Late Double
Olise capped an impressive individual performance by curling a superb left-footed strike into the top corner for Bayern’s fourth.
Things went from bad to worse for Bodø/Glimt when Odin Bjørtuft was sent off after bringing down Olise just outside the penalty area.
The French winger took full advantage of the visitors’ weakened defense in stoppage time, bursting through before calmly firing home his second goal and completing the 5-0 rout.

The final scoreline reflected Bayern’s superiority, particularly after the break. Musiala provided the breakthrough, Kane delivered another trademark goal, Davies produced arguably the strike of the night, while Olise finished with two goals and an assist.
More importantly for Kompany, Bayern remain unbeaten in all competitions this season.
Their incredible Champions League opening-day record also continues, with the Bavarians now winning their first match of the competition in 24 consecutive seasons.
For Bodø/Glimt, the defeat highlighted the enormous challenge of competing against Europe’s elite away from home. It was only the second time in their last 13 European matches that the Norwegian club failed to score at least twice.
What the Result Means
Bayern could hardly have asked for a stronger beginning to their pursuit of European glory.
A 5-0 victory, five second-half goals and another convincing attacking display underline the depth available to Kompany. Kane remains the focal point, but the threat provided by Musiala, Olise and Davies makes Bayern particularly difficult to contain.
There will be tougher Champions League tests ahead, but this was exactly the type of commanding performance expected from a club hunting its seventh European crown.
