Bachwezi Gives BUL a Flying Start

BUL required only four minutes to take control of the contest.

Bachwezi found space inside the Kataka defensive area and calmly placed his effort beyond goalkeeper Edward Nsubuga. The early goal immediately placed the hosts under pressure in front of their supporters.

Kataka attempted to respond two minutes later and created a promising opportunity at the opposite end. BUL goalkeeper Jean Wokorach produced an important point-blank save to protect the visitors’ advantage.

That stop proved significant because BUL quickly regained control of possession and dictated the tempo.

Bachwezi doubled the lead in the 21st minute with another composed finish. His movement repeatedly troubled Kataka’s defenders, while BUL’s midfield provided the forward passes needed to expose spaces behind the home side.

Kataka Find a Lifeline

BUL continued searching for more goals after establishing their two-goal advantage.

Swabiru Mpasa nearly added a third in the 35th minute after racing onto a carefully delivered long ball. Nsubuga reacted quickly, leaving his line to deny the BUL attacker before he could finish.

Kataka were rewarded for remaining in the contest when Ismail Tamubula was fouled inside the penalty area by Faisal Matovu shortly before halftime.

The referee awarded a penalty, giving the hosts an opportunity to reduce the deficit.

Ali Sentamu accepted the responsibility and sent Wokorach the wrong way to make it 2-1. The goal restored hope around BCS Stadium and left Kataka within touching distance of an equaliser at the interval.

Bachwezi Completes His Hat-Trick

Any expectations of a Kataka comeback disappeared during the second half.

BUL remained composed and continued attacking instead of attempting to protect their narrow advantage. Their positive approach produced the third goal five minutes after the hour mark.

Frank Katongole created the opportunity for Bachwezi, who finished confidently to complete his hat-trick and restore BUL’s two-goal cushion.

The treble represented an outstanding individual performance from Bachwezi. He combined intelligent positioning with clinical finishing and punished Kataka whenever space appeared around their penalty area.

With the result effectively secured, BUL continued to exploit the hosts’ increasingly stretched defence.

Simon Oketch Achidi completed the scoring after receiving an excellent pass from Ssewagudde. Achidi kept his composure and placed the ball past Nsubuga to give the visitors a convincing 4-1 victory.

The Kawowo Sports match report confirmed that the result took BUL to the top of the early Uganda Premier League standings.

Clinical BUL Make Early Statement

BUL followed their opening 1-0 victory over Express with an even more impressive performance in Bukedea.

The Eastern Giants have collected six points, scored five goals and conceded only once across their first two league fixtures. Those numbers underline the balance between their organised defence and improving attack.

Bachwezi’s performance will attract most of the attention, but BUL’s victory was built on contributions across the team.

Wokorach made an important save when the score was still 1-0, while Katongole and Ssewagudde supplied assists during the second half. Achidi also demonstrated the attacking depth available by adding the fourth goal.

The perfect opening provides early encouragement for a club that finished ninth in the previous campaign. However, maintaining this standard over the longer season will be the greater test.

Kataka Must Improve Defensively

Kataka remain on one point after two matches and were placed 12th following the defeat.

Sentamu’s penalty showed that the hosts could respond when placed under pressure, but their defensive organisation was repeatedly exposed by BUL’s movement and direct passing.

Conceding inside four minutes damaged Kataka’s original approach. The second goal then forced them to commit more players forward, creating additional spaces for their opponents to attack.

Despite the heavy defeat, Kataka can take encouragement from the chance created immediately after BUL’s opener and the pressure that produced their penalty. They must now improve their concentration and defensive discipline as they adjust to top-flight football.

Conclusion

BUL delivered one of the strongest performances of the opening Uganda Premier League matches by combining attacking quality with ruthless finishing.

Bachwezi’s hat-trick decided the contest, while Achidi’s fourth goal underlined the difference between the teams. Kataka briefly threatened a comeback through Sentamu’s penalty but could not sustain that momentum after halftime.

Six points from two matches and five goals scored represent an excellent beginning for BUL. For Kataka, the result provides an early reminder of the defensive standards required to compete consistently in the Uganda Premier League.
