CAF has permitted an attendance of 17,000, according to Kitara president Deo Kasozi. The club recorded approximately 15,000 spectators for the first leg against Mogadishu City, so management wants another 2,000 supporters to help fill the available capacity against Al Ahly.

Kasozi described the fixture as the biggest game in Kitara’s history and urged supporters to fill the stadium.

How Kitara reached the Al Ahly tie

Kitara advanced after eliminating Somalia’s Mogadishu City Council in the previous round. The Royals won the return match 2-0 and completed a 4-1 aggregate victory, earning their place in the second preliminary round. Al Ahly received a bye through the opening round and will begin their campaign against the Ugandan side.

The tie is played over two legs. Kitara host the opener in Hoima before travelling to Cairo for the return. The aggregate winner progresses to the CAF Confederation Cup group stage, making disciplined game management across both matches essential.

Al Ahly’s continental record explains the size of the task. The Cairo club are record 12-time CAF Champions League winners and lifted the Confederation Cup in 2014. Kitara, meanwhile, can draw confidence from their efficient first-round performance and a home crowd that has already shown strong support in this campaign.

What supporters should know before travelling

Fans should complete the online purchase before matchday because there will be no physical ticket sales. Use only the ticket link announced by the club and reported by Kawowo Sports.

Travellers should plan transport to Hoima City Stadium early, allow time for entry checks and follow instructions from match officials and security personnel. A parking sticker is included with the VIP package, but motorists should still confirm access arrangements and arrive before congestion builds.

Any later change to the schedule, entry procedure or ticket availability should be checked on Kitara’s official communication channels. Fans should not assume that an unconfirmed social-media post represents a valid update.

Why this match matters in Uganda

Hosting Al Ahly brings unusual continental attention to Hoima and gives Kitara a chance to measure their progress against established African opposition. It also offers Ugandan supporters a rare opportunity to watch a decorated continental club locally.

For readers following the wider football schedule, the Bangbet Uganda sports platform can be used to review available fixtures and markets. Odds can change, however, and they never guarantee a result. Adults aged 25 and above should set a budget, avoid chasing losses and read the Bangbet responsible gambling guide before placing any wager.

Verdict

Kitara have kept ordinary admission accessible at UGX 20,000, while the UGX 100,000 VIP option adds limited availability and parking access. Online-only sales make preparation important. With 17,000 spectators permitted and Al Ahly providing elite opposition, the first leg is positioned to become a landmark occasion for Kitara, Hoima and Ugandan club football.
