Brentford Thrash Leicester City 4-0 in Historic Away Win

Brentford delivered a stunning performance at King Power Stadium, thrashing Leicester City 4-0 on Friday night. The Bees made history by securing their fourth consecutive away win in the English Premier League.

Yoane Wissa, Bryan Mbeumo, Christian Nørgaard, and Fábio Carvalho found the net in a dominant display. Brentford controlled the game from start to finish, leaving Leicester with no chance.

Brentford’s First-Half Masterclass

The visitors set the tone early, pressing high and forcing mistakes from Leicester. Wissa broke the deadlock in the 17th minute. Mikkel Damsgaard won the ball and delivered a perfect pass. Wissa’s shot curled in off the post, giving Brentford the lead.

Leicester tried to respond, with Jamie Vardy testing goalkeeper Mark Flekken. But Brentford stayed in control. Mbeumo doubled the lead in the 27th minute with a brilliant curling shot into the far corner. The goal silenced the home crowd.

Before halftime, Brentford added a third. Mbeumo turned provider, sending a pinpoint free-kick into the box. Nørgaard rose highest and guided his header past Mads Hermansen. Leicester looked stunned as they went into the break 3-0 down.

Carvalho Seals the Win

Leicester struggled to create chances in the second half. Brentford, on the other hand, remained sharp and disciplined. The Foxes had a brief moment of hope when Keane Lewis-Potter found the net, but VAR ruled it out for handball.

Substitute Fábio Carvalho put the game beyond doubt in the closing stages. A swift counterattack left Leicester’s defense exposed, and Carvalho slotted the ball home to make it 4-0.

A Tough Night for Leicester

Leicester have now lost six consecutive home games without scoring, a record they hoped to avoid. Their survival hopes are in danger, as they remain in the relegation zone.

Ruud van Nistelrooy’s side started brightly, but they failed to capitalize on early chances. Vardy and Woyo Coulibaly came close, but Flekken stood firm in goal.

Frank Praises Brentford’s Performance

Brentford manager Thomas Frank was delighted with his team’s performance.

“It’s difficult to win in the Premier League, and even harder to win away,” he said. “To do it 4-0 is very impressive.”

Brentford now look ahead to their next fixtures with confidence. They have established themselves as one of the league’s most dangerous teams on the road.

What’s Next?

Leicester must bounce back quickly to avoid relegation. Their next match is crucial in the survival race. Brentford, meanwhile, will aim to extend their impressive away form.
