First Half: Cisse Double Puts AC Milan Ahead

Bologna started aggressively, threatening Milan’s previously impressive home record. Jens Odgaard narrowly missed Nadir Zortea’s dangerous delivery before Mbangula fired wide from the resulting opportunity.

The visitors eventually broke through when Mbangula converted Zortea’s cutback, marking his first Serie A start with a crucial goal.

However, Milan responded emphatically.

Omari Hutchinson pressured Arthur Theate into a defensive mistake, allowing Alphadjo Cisse to capitalize and equalize.

With momentum shifting towards the Rossoneri, Fikayo Tomori delivered a perfectly placed ball for Cisse to complete his brace in the 27th minute.

Milan entered half-time leading 2-1, seemingly on course to extend their unbeaten league run.

Second Half: Bologna Produce Stunning Comeback

Bologna returned from the break with renewed intensity and immediately put pressure on Milan’s defense.

Odgaard narrowly missed an equalizer before Juan Miranda’s dangerous delivery forced Davide Bartesaghi into an unfortunate own goal, restoring parity at 2-2.

The visitors continued attacking, exploiting Milan’s defensive uncertainty.

Miranda again played a decisive role, supplying Mbangula with a perfectly weighted cutback that the Belgian winger converted to put Bologna 3-2 ahead.

Milan struggled to respond, failing to register a second-half shot before the 80th minute.

Young striker Francesco Camarda eventually had a golden opportunity to equalize but headed wide from six yards.

Bologna punished that miss when Mbangula completed his hat-trick on the counterattack, sealing an extraordinary 4-2 away victory.

Samuel Mbangula Steals the Spotlight

Mbangula was the standout performer, scoring three clinical finishes in his first Serie A start.

His performance highlighted Bologna’s attacking efficiency and ability to exploit defensive weaknesses.

Meanwhile, manager Raffaele Palladino reached a remarkable milestone, becoming only the third Bologna manager to win his first three Serie A away matches.

What Does the Defeat Mean for AC Milan?

The result raises significant concerns about Milan’s defensive organization and second-half performances.

Despite a strong start to the campaign, the Rossoneri surrendered their advantage after the interval through defensive errors and a lack of attacking creativity.

For Bologna, the victory is a major confidence boost and shows they can compete with Serie A’s established giants.
