First Half: PSG Dominate, but Lyon Stand Firm

PSG started aggressively, determined to maintain their impressive winning momentum and return to the Ligue 1 summit.

Within the opening 10 minutes, Desire Doue and Fabian Ruiz threatened Lyon’s defense, setting the tone for an entertaining encounter.

Despite missing several first-team players, the Parisians controlled possession and created promising opportunities. Ferran Torres nearly broke the deadlock with a powerful low strike, but Lyon goalkeeper Dominik Greif produced an excellent save.

However, Lyon was far from passive.

Shortly after the half-hour mark, Julien Duranville nearly stunned the home supporters with a close-range effort, but PSG goalkeeper Matvey Safonov made a crucial save.

Zachary Athekame also threatened the visitors, while Maghnes Akliouche tested Greif at the opposite end.

At halftime, both teams were level at 0-0, leaving everything to play for.

Second Half: Luis Enrique’s Substitutions Change the Game

PSG returned from the interval with renewed intensity, but Joao Neves wasted a promising chance, firing over from inside the penalty area.

Lyon kept frustrating the French champions and nearly took the lead when Moussa Niakhate’s header forced an outstanding reaction save from Safonov.

With the match approaching its decisive stages, Luis Enrique turned to his substitutes.

The PSG manager introduced Lucas Hernandez, Senny Mayulu and Mika Godts, hoping fresh energy would unlock Lyon’s stubborn defense.

His tactical gamble paid off spectacularly.

Senny Mayulu Breaks the Deadlock

Mayulu made an immediate impact after combining brilliantly with fellow substitute Godts.

Receiving a pass near the edge of the penalty area, the youngster unleashed a powerful strike into the bottom corner, leaving Greif helpless.

The goal marked Mayulu’s first of the season and rewarded PSG’s persistence after sustained attacking pressure.

Mika Godts Seals Victory With a Stunning Finish

With six minutes remaining, PSG delivered the knockout blow.

Quentin Ndjantou launched a perfectly weighted long ball to Godts, who showed excellent composure, cut inside a defender, and curled a magnificent finish past Greif.

It was Godts’ first goal for PSG, capping an unforgettable bench appearance.
