According to reporting attributed to Mario Cortegana of The Athletic, a source close to Atlético’s leadership believes a major Arsenal bid represents the only realistic route for Álvarez to leave this summer.
No formal €150 million Arsenal offer has been confirmed, and Atlético have not publicly announced that the striker is for sale. However, the latest development could represent a private softening of the club’s previous position that Álvarez would not leave at any price.
Atlético Place Major Conditions on Álvarez Transfer
Atlético’s reported conditions are designed to protect the club both competitively and financially.
